This type of antenna involves a directional antenna with up to 20 dBi gain in the direction of maximum radiation. The single elements over a baseplate are switched into a power supply network with very low loss and, with the aperture illumination, generate only very small sidelobes in the radiation pattern. The forward-to-back ratio is better than 30 dB.
